At Lord's
The fifth day of the second test of England v India was magnificent. The intensity of the game was gripping and the ebb and flow of the match proof. if proof were needed, that test cricket is the ultimate expression of the game of cricket, while the so-called 100 is merely a bastard offspring, if you'll forgive the expression. My first ever visit to Lord's, I was lucky enough to be there with my son to witness a thrilling Indian victory - and good to see former England captain, Sir Andrew Strauss, raise over £1m for his charity, the Ruth Strauss Foundation, set up after he lost his wife to breast cancer. The charity supports children who are in the process of losing a parent to terminal cancer. For those of you who find cricket an impenetrable mystery, I can only say you don't know what you're missing!
