Heading to Helford

Headed to Helford Passage today on the recommendation of our AirBnb host.

The weather wasn’t fabulous but there was a fabulous display of jellyfish on the beach - the latter putting me off swimming more than the former. But I loved wandering up and down the beach talking to random strangers whilst collecting sea glass and shells.

Some of us were pretty wiped out today. Dot.T had to catch a bus at 7.10am from Newquay which meant packing up her tent last night, sleeping very little, getting up at 5.30am and setting off at 6am. We got up to guide her home as nothing was straightforward; a walk, a shuttle bus, a bus, a train with one connection and an extra stop but we got her in our arms soon after 9.30am. Her rucksack still weighed a ton - she didn’t eat some of her food because it relied on hot water and a cup of water cost £2. She even tried drinking coffee made with cold water. No fires or cooking stoves were allowed.

She made it. Lovely to have her back. She just needs to sleep a lot soon.
