boston, boston

i explored the city of boston today. i love it. really, really love it. its unlike any city ive been to. it feels small and somewhat quaint. there are thousands of students from any number of prestigious universities. there is culture and heritage. it is in the north. all of these things are wonderful. i feel i would fit in here. i think id really enjoy myself. it seems like there is enough to do without feeling overwhelmed (which i tend to feel in cities). also, i speak the language. how convenient.

my only real experience in a city was in berlin. therefore, every time i am walking in a city i am in awe of the fact that everyone is speaking english. i know its absurd. its just the way it is. i am startled by every conversation i understand and being understood and acknowledged in shops/restaurants.

so i am starting to feel less terrified and more excited about the prospect of moving to boston. itd help if i knew one soul in the city, but alas. i shall build community.
