Parlo solo italiano
All in all, good news about my lost iPad, even if it means a bit of extra work. Because I forgot yesterday my iPad on an international train and it is now in Milan, the lost property office of our Swiss railways can no longer help.
So I spent a good while this morning to chase the device, still sending tracking data. The employee at the lost property office in Milan was very helpful, but only spoke Italian on the phone. We managed to communicate somehow with a lot of creativity. Anyway, he gave me the tip and the number of the railway police in Milan. Someone there spoke English and thanks to the quite accurate geotracking from the iPad, they could really confirm that the device had been handed in. Hooray!
The return is more difficult. This can only be done on the spot. Not possible to send it to me directly, nor to transfer it to the Swiss lost property office on the next Eurocity train. The solution now is that we will take a short trip to Milan during our holidays and combine the necessary with the useful.
