Ouch
What a discombobulating week. So Juno’s medication is working and thankfully she’s not going to need surgery for her sore paw.
I finally managed to get through to the doctors this week after days of calling. I thought you could still call the doctors and ask for an appointment for non-urgent issues. Every day I call and get asked ‘is it urgent?’ and when I say ‘no’, I am told to call back the next day and then the next day. After 5 days of this I realise that this system simply doesn’t work. Finally after a frank discussion with the receptionist they agree to get the doctor to call me. From there it goes quickly and I had an x ray yesterday morning and a doctors appointment today with a physio consultation tomorrow.
Unfortunately Josh also had a brush with the NHS this week. He hurt his ankle at football last night - badly. He had to cycle 5 miles home and by this morning it was clear that something was very wrong with it. This morning he slowly hobbled onto a bus to A&E and left some hours later in a cast and on crutches. Turns out he must have fractured his ankle before as there were slivers of bone in his ankle joint as well as the new fracture. He’s got an appointment to see a consultant on Monday.
Thank you NHS (and Juno’s vets too!)
