Sailing
The Abstract Thursday challenge of ICM set by Ingeborg was the perfect excuse to head out to one the local lakes hosting water sports. I was in luck as there were some yachts out sailing which gave me the shot I had envisaged.
As for the extra: The lake is part of a complex of lakes created from old quarrying works along side the River Blackwater. I walked along the river which had many fallen trees forming perfect perches for kingfishers. Ever hopeful, but realistically extremely unlikely, I kept my eyes skimmed, and suddenly there was that flash of blue. It rested on a branch long enough for me to fire off 2 slightly off focus shots.
All in all, a good session for today's World Photography Day.
