WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

The Curly Whirlies...

We are now in East Marton after a series of 9 locks and winding our way along the
'curly whirlies'. A long part of the canal which zig zags through the beautiful countryside. Luckily we teamed up with another couple - Keith and Pat on their purple boat 'Still Waters' which makes going through locks so much easier.

Not long after we moored up, a family walked by and stopped to ask if we are normally moored in Skipton as the lady had seen Fiddlesticks there. Turns out she is a singer, dancer, shop owner amongst lots of other pursuits in Skipton and said we should come along to a jam session at the Two Doors Inn on a Sunday afternoon. It would be nice but we still worry about Covid especially indoors with people singing! Anyway her grandaughter had this gorgeous little ferret on a lead and harness. Bella May was beside herself with excitement and curiosity. They stayed for quite a while and Bandit was all over the back deck sniffing and snuffling. So cute.

I was in the bad books after I ended up in hawthorn bushes today and got the TV aerial caught in them and wrenched it off its fixture! :-0. Anyway Keith then showed me his tiny one - aerial that is! It's a portable magnetic one about 6 inches tall so Frank is ordering one as we speak. All's well that ends well!  :-D))

There are horses in every field here and this gorgeous spotty one was right over the wall from where we are moored. What kind are these spotty ones?

We just had FaceTime with Anna, Poppy and Arlo. Poppy just started secondary school - Wallace Hall Academy - where Anna went 30 years ago. She has really enjoyed her first two days there and already sounds much more grown up. Arlo has gone up to Primary 5 in their little village school. Both are avid readers and showed us their really thick books that they are reading just now.

All in all a really lovely day.
Goodnight :-)X
