Seniors Excursion

Hubby joined in his first senior excursion since retiring. It was also the first of the year due to Covid restrictions. We have the 3-G regulations, now, which means Vaccinated, Tested or recovered in English. Without proof of one of the 3 you cannot go to a bar, restaurant, concert, excursion and so on.
The first stop was Amethyst World where there is the largest exposed vein  of amethyst in the world. There are themed gardens and plenty of gem stones to buy. It was interesting but I have been to better exhibitions in Austria. The 5 stones on the wall contain amethyst and other minerals and are originally from a single slice of stone.
Next stop was the Gallien adventure world where we had a small buffet lunch. It is a privately owned park with restaurant overlooking the fish lake. You can hire fishing equipment - see extras for the whopper carp one of the punters found.
There are camping huts for hire and a Danish wooden cabin. They have a winery and have started to brew their own beer which, sadly, wouldn't be ready for 2 weeks. They also raise and sell the meat from Angus cattle. The cattle are hardy so are allowed to wander in and out of the shed, seen in extras, at will. I am not sure it was the best place for a wine tasting (see last extra). Coffee and cake was served in the restaurant away from the cattle shed before driving home
