The day to start is today

Thursday, the most useless day

It only exists as a reminder that it's been a really long week ... and it's still not over.

My nearly youngest has had a tough week this week. Contradictory teachers, one saying that work wasn't good enough, and one saying the work was fantastic. That would have left me slightly confused. Deadlines coming up and some teachers not doing what they are there to do - help when needed !!! Sadly putting their own needs first, wheras in my school book the needs of the student are supposed to be a priority.

Well she has been completely grown up about it and discussed her issues with the appropriate members of staff and hopefully there will be no need for me to wander on down there and add my two penneth. But it does make me so cross when the students who work really hard seem to be unable to find a time for teachers to fit them in, it is always an assumption that they will just get on with it. But the time is given to those who are constantly causing disruption and have complete disregard for other people at the drop of a hat. Doesn't change much as we get older either :S

The blip is of her current product design project which I have really enjoyed working alongside the process (wish we could have done this sort of thing at school) We have had many discussions about the design where she has basically thought through the ideas using me as a sounding board, and I am extreemely proud of the result. Her oldest (very arty) sister came into the kitchen where a bit of finishing off had been going on and was stunned how good the lamp looked. After a whole series of compliments and various indications that she was totally impressed , she then added the 5 minutes of being nice to her for the week were over and she would have to wait till Saturday until she could be complimentary again.

Brilliant night at Rainbows tonight. Two of the girls said their promise and are now 'real' rainbows. One of the girls was terrified at the thought of saying her words out loud to everyone and I said to her not to worry it was ok to let the other rainbows say it with her. Then when we got to it she spoke word perfect and so confidently 'on her own' I felt completely proud of her, and she just gave me the biggest smile . Wonderful :)
