How Much Wood …

… would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?*

A tongue-twister I’d never heard until taught it by a young German man after we’d been chased by a woodchuck (groundhog) whilst cycling through rural New Jersey about thirty years ago. We were later told that this was unusual behaviour for a woodchuck, and it could have been due to it possibly having rabies.

*apparently this has been calculated as being approximately 320kg of wood per day.
