Impromptu day

Some days begin with a cup of tea and biscuit in bed and a discussion starting …… ‘what do you want to do today’.  We didn’t have plans today but OH suggested a visit to a NT property.  I left him to decide which one as we have visited most in Kent but he chose one we haven’t visited before  - Small Hythe place near Tenterden.  It was the home of Ellen Terry and was full of theatrical memorabilia (I think I had heard her name, but was an actress in the 20’s and 30’s so not really well known!

We stopped in Appledore and contemplated a cup of tea but decided to drive home   instead to have homemade tea and cake in the conservatory instead (and saved ourselves a few quid). An hour in the garden then dinner and scrabble.  A lovely way to spend the day.
