Don't Judge this Book by its Cover!
Backblipped 21.03.13
Just realised there was a gap in my journal but knew I'd taken a photo for that day. Found it in my recycle bin. Phew! Not that it's an exciting photo, I just didn't want a gap in my journal so close to my 2nd blip anniversary!
Anyhoo, what I wanted to say about this book on the day I photographed it is, if you are looking for the simple, good, slow, homecooked dishes that James raves about in his introduction to this book, then you are in for a disappointment if you peruse the recipes inside. The majority of them are not your everyday home cooked meals and lots contain pretty exotic ingredients.....I mean where do you get banana leaves? maybe they're readily available and I just lead a sheltered life
David bought me the book as part of my birthday pressie thinking the recipes would be made in the slow cooker. Another misconception you'll discover when you read between the covers.
On the plus side, James is rather easy on the eye so I quite like the look of the book on my shelf. :))
