High & Mighty

It's a bit unusual to see our local heron up in the trees instead of wading in the water.  He's on the other side of our "pond" and spent hours there preening.  I got tired of waiting for him to fly off.  I'm so glad he showed up as I was beginning to wonder where everyone was.  I needn't have worried  -- along with the heron, there were deer, ducks, kingfishers galore and even the beaver.  Feast or famine!
