In Memory
I've blipped part of a beautiful pink and purple floral tribute. It was the funeral and thanksgiving service of a friend and neighbour today. It was a private cremation so a few of the neighbours stood out to line the route as the cortège left the house.
We attended the thanksgiving service in the church where she and here late husband had actively worked and worshipped. It was different, there was to be no eulogy as was her wish. We never got to here where she spent her childhood, nor where she got her first job. We weren't told how she met her husband or where they went for holidays. What we were reassured of was her tremendous faith and love of helping others. There was a lot of testimony to that over a buffet, back in the garden at her home afterwards.
It just made me think: if you care enough about someone you should take the time to talk to them while they are still with you. No one lives forever.
