Do not clap?
I spotted this in a consumer megastore today. From an environmental point of view we have little to applaud in a warehouse full of household appliances.
We have even less to applaud as we watch helplessly the retreat from Afghanistan playing out on our tv screens. (This megastore had the biggest HD screens I have ever seen.)
It seems a lifetime away from today when the U.K. was clapping for carers. The NHS in Scotland is tonight under unprecedented pressure.
On a more positive note we watched day one of the Paralympics from Tokyo with awe and respect.
We also applauded our grandson’s success in being awarded a prestigious Silver Blue Peter badge for a “surviving lockdown” book he wrote with his Nana and Aunty.
This morning a face to face board meeting was moved back online. Normality is not here quite yet.
