Not grass..
Today I found several grasshoppers of the Acrida family. I find them quite spectacular with their long, green, pointy body and head and red flattened antenna that look like the dried out tips of the grass they so skilfully hide in. In fact they are rather difficult to spot and they seem to be quite aware of their camouflage skills as they stay still for a long time and it looks as if they follow you with their pseudopupils. They have got incredibly long hindlegs and are capable of really long jumps. Then one of them took off in flight and I suddenly understood why people would believe in the existence of fairies, for they fly with their body almost in a vertical position, just as I would imagine the flight of a fairy.
