Himalayan Balsam

I'm alway fascinated by this hedgerow plant.  When the kids were little it provided them with lots of fun and fear by exploding when they got anyway near them.  I probably told them they were hedge monsters.  The spear shaped pods can 'pop' and fling their seeds up to 6-7 feet when they're brushed against.
