Monument Malaise

I like cemeteries, they are insightful and tranquil places. I only find them sad when you see the state of disrepair that has beset many of them. I came across this monument today, I was avoiding the wind as best I could, no snow here but 3 miles up the road the house there was about an inch.

I hadn't reset the camera since the pier, I meant to shoot this in monochrome but when I uploaded it it had saturated the sandstone at the top of the monument that had been protected by the trees. I liked the shapes of the trees inthe background it just lifted the shot a little I think. I was not going back to re-shoot it so here it is I hope you like it
