Hi Honey ...

...we’re home xxx

It took a bit of planning.
It turned into a Famous Three Adventure with bikes, swimming and picnic with beer, not ginger.
I drove over to my friend’s with some sweet peas and via having a drive past to check a house out.
We sat in the garden planning and then prepared our picnic.
Then my friend and I headed over to mine with all the gear.
Her husband put their bikes on their car and followed a bit later.
We picked up my gear and drove to our dearly loved swim spot and unloaded the gear. Then we went back to mine by which time P had parked up and unloaded their bikes. I got mine as well and we set off up the hill and down to the lake and then along to our swim spot to reunite ourselves with the gear.
We changed and had a super long swim before returning to the beach which we had to ourselves for our picnic.
It felt so odd. The campsites and lake were heaving with folk further down yet we had the place to ourselves on a bank holiday Saturday.
As the sun started to go down we got back on our bikes and huffed and puffed our way past the campsites with the air full of smells of all the barbecues and sounds of families and children playing and hauled our way back to mine and then got back in the car to go back to retrieve our stuff and then back again.
Quite a logistical challenge but well worth it on such a beautiful day. So good to be back there. Shattered now.
