North Coast

We left Belfast just after 9am to drive up to the north coast. First stop was a very popular cafe called the Bothy. After a short wait in the queue we all had a lovely breakfast, mine being a pancake stack with bacon and maple syrup.
We then went to White Park Bay where to my daughter in law's delight there were cows walking along the beach. This is a childhood memory of hers and she wanted us to see it too. There was mist around all day and although it didn't spoil it at all unfortunately it did mean we couldn't see the spectacular views as we drove along to Giant's Causeway. My husband and I have been once before twenty five years ago the day after my brother's wedding. On that occasion he and another brother wore their kilts and walking boots attracting much attention! More suitably dressed this time we enjoyed exploring the fascinating rock formations. Less enjoyable was the walk up the cliffs and the final 162 steps to the top.
Our final stop was Portrush which despite the mist was very busy. We had coffee and cake in a cafe overlooking the beach. Then we wandered through the town before heading back to the car.
We then decided we would drive home and order a Chinese takeaway for tea. We ate this watching Cruella and completely chilled out after our long day!
