Suspending Belief @ an MGB GT
Today’s Blipfoto is of the ceiling in the library at Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse, looked at another way.
The ceiling drop has design echos from Craigievar Castle and Kellie Castle.
The weather is cooler and our visitors are more relaxed and ask many questions. Most of which can be answered.
We are also asked for many tourist attraction recommendations. A pleasant relaxing day although the absence of the Barrista Coffee van was felt by everyone.
The good news is that the van will be back in September.
And the MGB GT?
Well that is shown in the extra with our "Cactus FBI" car behind.
The MG, now 50 years old has been restored to better than new condition. It is in magnificent shape and apparently a winner at Concours car shows.
How do I know? It belongs to one of the volunteers, who told me all about it. Apparently he had out the car out for a run on dry roads.
Watched what was laughingly called a race from Spa Francochamp. It consisted of 2 laps behind the safety car, the winner being declared from the qualifying heats the day before.
It was right, from a safety viewpoint, to run the race in this fashion. However, it would have been much smarter to reschedule the race for another time.
The spectators who waited in the torrential rain for many hours deserved a full refund of their ticket which is apparently not on offer.
Hardly fair treatment.
