Autumn Layers

Hawthorn berries - haws - and overlaid ripe barley heads, with an added 'poster edges' art filter, all courtesy of Photoshop. After a miserably dull day, made all the duller by spending it preparing my tax return, the sun came out and the sky turned blue just as we set off for our walk. Hoorah! Spotted a gorgeous dragonfly but was too slow to photograph it. Otherwise, just one Speckled Wood butterfly and that was the lot.

Not sure when the sky larks stopped their continual string of song, but it's gone, and everywhere feels autumnal as befits the first day of September.
