Pioneer Mothers Memorial Cabin Museum

We traveled up to Canby, Oregon today to get some very special dahlia bulbs from the Swan Island Dahlia Farm.

Kathy has been thinking of growing these special dahlias from this farm since 1995 when we were living in Wyoming.

Quite a long and winding road we've been traveling to finally arrive at this farm and collect our dahlia bulbs in person.

What a kick to bring the bulbs booty home to plant knowing the best part is yet to come.

The ride up the back roads of the Willamette Valley is a thrill in itself the rolling farmland and scenic vistas simply gorgeous.

Our other main destination was Champoeg State Park campground alongside the Willamette River.

We were very pleased to find this campground to be even better than out greatest expectations.

We hope to be back there in April for a three or four day stay.

The Pioneer Mothers Memorial Cabin Museum is one of the features offered by this Oregon State Park.
