Colours of nature
The day started off quite wonderfully, and got better and better and better. The Rower had an appointment this morning early, so we took the opportunity to have breakfast out - such fun. Never done it before, so felt quite decadent, especially when we saw the size of the serves. Absolutely no need for lunch!
We went to an Open garden at Mylor in the hills behind Stirling. Although it's a retail plant nursery, their private garden is really spectacular. It abounds with bird and insect life, and I got images of a blue damsel fly, a water spider, lots of beautiful flowers, and A NEON CUCKOO BEE (Thyreus nitidulus). I've spoken about these before, but they are not common, so I am pleased to be able to blip it again.
We got talking to a lady who asked if I was chasing blue banded bees, which of course I was, but when I got the cuckoo bee, I showed it to her, and she'd never seen one before. I consider this quite a coup, as she is knowledgeable about native bees. It turned out she specialises in native flora, and appears on a radio gardening program. I knew her name quite well, but had never met her before. Did a Blip sales pitch, so hopefully she'll join.
This image looks like it's been super saturated with colour, but apart from cropping and a smidge of sharpening it's SOOC.
