Local tour

It's been a non-stop day of so many parts!

First off, Jeff & Margaret came to pick us up. We drove to G's school to drop her off and I then took them to Mall of the Emirates. I hadn't realised it was their very first time here. They saw the ski slope, the crystal feature in the Kempinski (my extra) and the big dome (my main blip) and then they did some shopping in Carrefour.

We picked G up and drove to the nearest Spinneys to do some more shopping. It was mainly to get pork which is sold in only a handful of supermarkets here. Lots of ice bags and ice was bought so that the items remain refrigerated until M&J reach home. Special items purchased, we went to yet another grocery store! Union Co-op does delicious shawarmas so we introduced M&J to our tradition of eating shawarmas by the sea.

I heard from the garage that the car is ready to collect. Come before 2 pm as they only work a half-day on Thursday. We jumped into a taxi and sped across town to get there just in time. Khalid, our service advisor, informed us of the state of the car and went on to give us a further reduction off the bill. So kind! Thanks to the discount we got, we can buy the two new tyres the car needs to pass its MOT. We were headed to Lazer when I decided we can do it later or even tomorrow.

It was great to be home and relax before we went out for dinner with friends from our Life Group. We got on so well we ended up chatting until 12:30 am, so this is a very late posting!

It's been a good and full day! Did anyone watch the ABBA Voyage announcement? I missed it because of being at dinner.
