English Treasures

So we started at beautiful Bodliam - I’ve chosen it for the blip, a quintessential medieval castle-complete with enormous carp in the moat. From there to Batemans, home of Rudyard Kipling, with beautiful gardens and tea rooms, although personally I found the house quite dark. Finishing off our National Trust extravaganza with Chartwell, Churchill’s home - the gardens and the house both fabulous, I loved his art studio - and we were blessed with the added bonus of an accommodating dragonfly - perhaps a migrant hawker? another extra.
