Skara Brae

Couldn't come to Orkney and not visit Skara Brae - last time I was here was back in the Summer of 2008; I remember the day of our visit being bright and sunny, and am pleased to report the conditions were the same today :-)

No photo can do justice to the truly majestic surroundings of this small Neolithic settlement - little wonder folk wanted to live here - but here's one of the main rooms within the settlement, with the Bay of Skaill in the background.
