Bella’s first swim

Today at last we have some warmth, and the few enticing slivers of blue sky encourage us to pack a simple picnic and head for the Sychnant Pass. I’m hoping to get some shots of the heather while its colour lasts, but without full sun, the landscape doesn’t sing. 

However, while we have our lunch beside the lake, we’re joined by Bonnie, Ellen and their owners. Ellen is a fully grown black lab, Bonnie a 12 week old springer spaniel, and this is her first encounter with water. Hesitant at first, she soon takes the plunge, following Ellen who clearly loves getting wet. Their interaction is delightful, and they provide the most wonderful photo opportunities. 

The difficulty, of course, comes in choosing from the 400 plus shots I end up taking! In the end, my main is of a wet and muddy Bella looking rather quizzical ( G’s choice - for once I actually follow his advice) but there are several others in the collages in extras!
