A Grand Day

We’ve had such a great day. It was sunny and breezy yet not too warm. After a leisurely breakfast we spent most of the day outside doing chores and enjoying the glorious sights and sounds of early September • I harvested the rest of the leeks, and MrsP picked the last of the cucumbers before pulling the plants. We also removed the ugly tee-pee/lighthouse lawn art creation that the cucumbers climbed on. More tomatoes were picked too. Tonight I’m roasting veggies to use up the last of the zucchini and reduce the outrageous pepper inventory! • Some mums were planted, and our scarecrow set out, another unofficial start of Autumn. He’s naked at the moment, but a shirt will be slipped over him before nightfall • Enjoy this goldfinch I found nibbling on the sunflowers :)
