Little Maids In a Row
Three young girls had their First Communion tonight. Cecílio is cooking the celebration meal for the one on the right, the daughter of Fernanda, who used to come to our Bible study when we were still having it.
Felt quite sad at the practised way these kids took off their masks when doing the readings or taking Communion, and put them on again; sad that wearing masks is so normal for them.
Gratefuls:
- talking and praying with the folk in England who support us here; they are invariably so encouraging
- the privilege of listening to Maria at the market, she is exhausted; we had some of her green beans (and red peppers and potatoes) for lunch... when I think of how much work she has put into giving us those beans: preparing the soil, planting, weeding, watering, picking... and much else besides, plus caring for an 84yr old Mum with dementia
- possibly winning in the ant battle for my grass seed, they are trying, but not succeeding as thoroughly as last time, I won't give up!
