Not the shire..

..even if I half expected tiny hobbits to come out of what looked like their hobbit homes.
After two day imersion in the Roman world it was time for some Etruscan culture at the Cerveteri Necropoli. Around 10 hectars are visitable as an open air museum out of total 400 hectars of lands where Etruscans organized their city of the dead more than 2500 years ago. Long streets with tombs on each side, some hidden under lush vegetation other in the shade of big pine trees. The tombs are mainly carved out of sandstone, some big as an apartment with place for up to 20 remains and built up to what resembles the hobbit homes. The eery but interesting atmosphere captured our imagination.
