Rogie Falls
2.5 hours from home! Left around 1030 but stopped off at Tiso for an OS map of this area for the Map Man and I had forgotten my sunglasses so bought a pair and also a pair of leggings. We stopped off in Dingwall and ate at a lovely Cafe near the station- food was brilliant , home cooked, and really nice staff.
We weren’t able to get into our guesthouse till after four so locally was a fabulous woodland walk along side the Black Water and Rogie Falls. Spectacular! The bridge is closed which I was sad about but we walked further down to see the big salmon leaping (here) making their way up to where they were born and find a mate to lay more eggs. There is a fish ladder thankfully to help them as these falls are fast and wild.
Headed to the Lochview Guesthouse our home for two nights and met by the owner Fiona who was very friendly and our room and toilet is massive and all spotless with some lovely added touches to make it special. The choice for breakfast was difficult to choose. I love a B and B brekkie, well t let’s hope it’s as good as it sounds :)
