The sky is dove grey, and stepping outside is like watching static on an old television.

I braved the horizontal weather, and smashed these particular springtime blues with a trip to my local vintage fair, held at Bruce Castle. I find it amusing that Tottenham is now on gentrification's radar - I still consider vintage fairs the preserve of Stoke Newington. Whatever next - a hipster barbers named "Fuzz Parlour"? A tea shop with pretty mismatched bone china, and macaroons that cost £2.50 a go? A homeware store where 50s modernism meets neo-baroque with a tongue-in-cheek twist, and a lime green velour sofa that nobody with eyes wants to buy?

But, I digress; I snark....

I shouldn't really, as this suitcase full of woolly delights really made me chuckle, and the atmosphere at the fair was upbeat and welcoming. Not to mention, the fact that it got me - and a whole other bunch of people - to go to Bruce Castle museum, which is apparently one of the oldest surviving brick houses in England, and practically on my doorstep. The museum and the surrounding park warrant another visit, but I think I'll wait until the weather is a little less...challenging.
