Glory of the Snow ...
..... ..... ..... or Chionodoxa, a perennial cold loving bulb. I found it this morning, at the bottom of Tobins Track, growing at the bottom of tall trees, in amongst the leaf litter. What a thrill! Such a gorgeous blue.
We’d had a great walk to the top, and back down a new route, a bike track called Murphys. Steep & narrow & fun - for bikes. A tad tricky for me in gravelly spots; fine for the 4-footed friend!
There’s definite progress with getting on top of the Delta variant, with another day of only 20 new cases. Plus, all of NZ, with the exception of Auckland, will go down to Delta Level 2 from midnight Tuesday night. A tad more freedom, with more mask wearing, mandatory signing in etc.
So far we’ve dodged a cannon ball.
Once we’re on top of vaccinating as many as possible, Govt will start opening up the borders. I wonder how long that will take! Our death rate stands at 27. I hope it stays that way.
