Seed to fruit

We are very late in life growing anything from seed. The lockdowns last year were the catalyst, as suddenly we couldn’t go anywhere to buy young plants, but we did have a few packets of seed. And rather remarkably, seeds turned into seedlings and then plants. We had not found the time to do this and see it through before, and no experience, so it was very satisfying watching things grow.

This year a monthly subscription to a magazine delivered two free packet of seeds each month for six months. So again, seeds turned into seedlings and then plants. Including some tomato plants in containers outside our back door. They are late bearing fruit, but sunshine is now encouraging the reddening of fresh tomatoes. Hardly a bumper crop, but satisfying nevertheless.

I have always been a late developer :-)
