Hoover

I found this instruction manual for a 1950s/1960s hoover in amongst mum’s things, in almost pristine condition. The hoover isn’t in bad condition either, considering it’s age and amount of use, but I didn’t bring that home!

Flooring guys came today to fit a new shower room floor and put in a larger inset coir mat by the front door. This involved cutting the wooden floor and in doing so, they cut through the house alarm cable to the front door. That took us all by surprise! The fitter had assumed it was clipped to the skirting board under the wood but the flooring had been laid by the last owners who had not been so careful. It hadn’t occurred to me that a cable would be under there at all! So the alarm company are now coming to fix that - nothing’s simple, is it?!

So tired again today - I’ll be glad to get away for a break next week.
