Aubergine
I picked one of the aubergines on Paul’s plant today but really it’s not quite ripe enough so it’s spending a few days on the windowsill. Although it’s very hard to tell if an aubergine is ripe enough - online advice talks about the colour of the skin and whether your thumb leaves an indentation, but these are hard to describe in words and there doesn’t seem much agreement on exactly how to tell what’s ripe and what isn’t. Or what’s over-ripe, which is a very bad thing!
