CAMINO PORTUGUES DAY 3
Lisbon, I will be sad to leave you! One of my favourite cities; I was here last in 2004 (wearing the same hat).
Today we visited the Sé Cathedral where the Camino officially begins. We have a document called the Credencial on which we will collect stamps along the way to show that we have walked it. Our first stamp came from the cathedral this morning. We lit a candle and were wished a "bon camino".
We enjoyed a day of walking around the city, appreciating the views from some of Lisbon's seven hills (it's not a city for the unfit) and riding up and down on the Elevador Gloria (www.top10portugal.com/elevador-gloria-lisbon)
Then a visit to the amazing arboretum at the University Botanical Garden, where I took this photo.
Tonight after dinner we wandered down to the shore and stood on the beach watching the waves. There was a tiny sliver of new moon. A good time to be setting off.
