A roasting day on Bute and I was outside for most of it.

A solo bike ride first thing, followed by me and my holiday companion getting the bus down to Kingarth. There then followed a sweltering walk to St Blaine's monastery ruins and a trek around the rocky outcrops of Dunagoil Fort. Only thing for it was to cool off with a swim in the sea - so good!

Walk back for the bus to whisk us up to Rothesay for fish suppers and a walk home via a pretty big hill for some stunning views and then the very welcome downhill final stretch to the cottage. Very welcome indeed.
