Scaffolding

The work next door has begun. The first thing the scaffolding guys did was unload a huge radio, put it up against my home office wall and turn up the volume. I couldn’t even hear the person I was on a call with… I was out there within minutes to talk to them about noise, consideration of those of us working at home etc. I didn’t mince my words and the radio was turned down.

Why do builders think it’s okay to play a radio at such loud volume? The guy told me they wanted to hear it while they were on the roof …two other neighbours sent me thank you messages for getting it turned down but I wish they’d actually come out to support me, or that my otherwise lovely next door neighbours (having the work done) would be a bit more assertive on this issue - they’ve both decamped elsewhere to work. Yes - I am grumpy about this - blasting out a radio for hours on end really really irritates me. I wish it didn’t… that would make things much easier.
