Lights out
I observed Earth Hour, between 8.30 and 9.30 this evening, with candles and the cat beside me. It was very calming. It's midnight and the candles are still burning, the lights remain off, and the cat is snoring.
It snowed most of the day, which is nonsense. However, it hasn't settled and there was no disruption to my journey to Tooting to have lunch with friends. I was a little early, so I popped into Oxfam to stay warm. I performed a small dance of joy when I spotted the whole series of George R. R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" - a bargain at only £13! As the man behind the counter said, "See you this time next year!" - that's a lot of books to read through.
Lunch was lovely - spicy South Indian cuisine. Yum! I went back to my friends' house for a few hours to chat over a cuppa. Their young lad, only 9 months' old, wasn't feeling his best, but he did smile at me a few times (especially when I left!)
