Pilot gigs . . .

. . . on the river.
The tide was high on the River Taw (runs through Barnstaple) when I went in to meet friends for coffee this morning.
There were several gigs on the river having races from the old bridge to a point down towards the new bridge. 
The top shot shows the, as yet unrestored, Shapland Building (Grade II  listed) and the bottom one shows some of the new developments.
The teams seemed to be enjoying the challenge.
Weather damp to start with but got better towards the end of the day....and now the sun is coming out again - yeah!
