Rock Pigeon

On the walls of the small castle above Martigny. There were many of them nesting in the walls of the tower. We decided to stop here on our way home this morning as we had never walked up to the ruined castle before. Great views of the valley and some interesting artefacts.

We were woken first thing this morning by a herd of cows, luckily on the other side of a small fence. (See extras). They are the black Heren cows that are famous for fighting. Two of them had quite a fight last night. It was frightening to watch and they were both steaming for a long time afterwards. This herd had two men watching over them for the whole day.
