Cotswold Boat Train

Our walk today was productive on two counts. First a mammoth haul of blackberries from the hedgerows. One bush was also a cacophony of starlings. Topping up their energy for an imminent murmuration, perhaps?

Our footpath crossed the heritage railway line. A Merchant Navy Class loco was heading a "Boat Train" with a headboard SS Canberra on its way to Cheltenham Race Course! When SS Canberra sailed  regularly from Southamton these locos hurried passengers to their liners from Waterloo station in London until air travel made them all redundant.

Good to catch up with old friends in Edinburgh on the video link this evening.
