Halfway there!

The front section of our new pergola has been erected. Tomorrow the back plate will be secured and then the side beams and rafters connected. It blends well with the brickwork but is imposing and makes a strong statement. Discussion about climbers and other planting now begins with earnest.
The weather slowly improved today after a wet start and forecast for tomorrow does not look promising. I am not sure when we will be able to assess the shade producing qualities of the pergola. Next spring?
