Church ornament of Engelbrecht II of Nassau
Who was count of Breda on behalf of the Spanish King. Underneath the ornament is a vault where various members of the Nassau family are buried. Among them the wife and daughter of William of Orange. He wanted to be buried here as well but he had to flee Breda. He went to live in Delft where he was assassinated and was buried in the church there. As were the following members of the House of Orange.
We spent a lovely day in Breda today.
