Parsnips

I tried growing parsnips, and failed, for 3 consecutive years. 

This year I sowed seeds in the greenhouse and the seedlings looked promising but then died shortly after I transplanted them to their microbed.

And then a friend gave me more seeds which I just sowed direct very late in the season and here they are now - great-looking parsnips!

The morale of the story is: sometimes you try hard and crops don't work and others you don't and it all happens.
