Mocha Parade

It's Dan's birthday next week and one of the presents I want to get for him is a big bag of coffee beans from the Treehouse Café. This is about one and a half miles from college, so I figured I could walk there and back at lunchtime, with enough time left to enjoy a sandwich and coffee at Brew-tang*.

My walk took me past Mocha Park, but where there once stood a little parade of local shops, there is now just a building site. In my current frame of mind, it's hard not to see it as a metaphor for our blighted country and its God awful government. Still, ever the optimist, I found myself hoping it would be replaced by something better (this thought applying to both the parade and the government!).

As far as the coffee bean acquisition went, it was mission accomplished, and I also had time to enjoy my sandwich and coffee before the afternoon session :-)
