Some humour
When you come away on holiday for one week skiing you get out no matter what the weather - well, to be truthful, I don't always, I prefer to sit curled up with my book. I am very much a fair weather skier but today I decided not to be a wimp and to ski even though the low cloud meant flat light with no visibility. It is a peculiar experience skiing when the light is like this, as you lose some sense of spatial awareness and can suddenly feel disorientated as you have difficulty judging sudden descents in the slopes - not the best thing when you are wobbling around with a long pair of skis attached to the bottom of your feet!
I was very relieved when we stopped for a coffee at an outside bar - it was surprisingly not that cold so it was pleasant standing outside sipping coffee and watching the locals quaffing beer and wine even though it was still only the morning and listening to the 1980's music playing from my era
I really liked the barman's sense of humour when I saw these signs so decided to blip them. The usual magnificent views were spoilt by the flat white light and colourless skies, so hopefully sometime in the week we may have some sunshine and then I can show you the lovely mountain views.
