Clover eater

As I drove up to the house I noticed a big lump in the front yard. Hmmm, looks like a porcupine. Sure enough. I could walk quite close without disturbing it but not too close!  We have a much smaller one and this one who are quite comfortable around here. I've taken pictures of them up in the apple tree just off our deck. They are more active at night but clearly I think they are trying to stuff themselves before winter gets here. It's a good thing we don't have a dog. Our cat Hilda pays them no mind what so ever.
